RESTORING OUR PLANET—MEANINGFUL CLIMATE ACTION BEYOND EARTH MONTH
As we step out of April (Earth Month) conversations around protecting our planet are more important than ever. From the accelerating climate crisis to the urgent need for nature restoration, the time to act is now. But what does meaningful climate action look like?
THE BIG PICTURE—WHY WE NEED URGENT ACTION
We are living in a climate emergency. At 1.5 degree Celsius of global warming, we are already experiencing the devastating effects—record-breaking heat waves, historic wildfires, prolonged droughts, and intensifying storms.
Communities worldwide are facing the consequences of a changing climate. From disrupted food systems to infrastructure damage and supply chain instability, climate change isn’t a distant threat—it’s happening now.
Together, we need to take urgent action, but not just any action. Comprehensive action. Restoring ecosystems is one of the most powerful solutions. Beyond absorbing carbon, nature provides biodiversity, clean air and water, fertile soils, and resilience against extreme weather. If we want a livable future, we must restore the balance between climate and nature along with supporting the health, culture and equality of our communities.
HOW COUNTRY, CLIMATE, NATURE, AND WILDLIFE ARE CONNECTED
Climate change and nature loss are deeply intertwined. Rising temperatures are impacting and changing our ecosystems and mother Earth, while shifting rainfall patterns, extreme weather events, as well as ocean acidification are threatening our species.
The good news? Restoring nature is one of the most effective climate solutions. Healthy ecosystems sequester greenhouse gases, buffer against extreme weather, and provide habitat for wildlife—all while supporting local communities.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Big change starts with small, everyday actions. Here are ways you can contribute.
-
REDUCE YOUR ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT: Dispose of packaging mindfully. Recycle our tea pouches through your local council’s soft plastics or kerbside program (if accepted) to keep materials in use — not in landfill.
-
CHOOSE SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORTATION: Think about walking,
riding your bike, or taking public transit for your commute instead
of driving. -
RECYCLE, REUSE AND UPCYCLE: Our pouches are designed to live on. Check with your local council for recycling options, or give them a second life at home — as herb storage, seed savers, or snack pouches.
-
EDUCATE AND SPREAD AWARENESS: Talk about biodiversity loss,
climate change and the opportunities we have to restore nature.
JOIN OUR RESTORATIVE EFFORTS
You can fund ocean-bound plastic removal or plant additional trees for just $2.00 each at checkout. Every action, whether purchasing a tea, opting in to our emails, or engaging with our campaigns—helps plant trees and restore ecosystems. Dumarr, (thank you) for partnering with us to create a healthier planet.
HOW WE’RE TAKING ACTION
At Dja-Wonmuruk (Yes Tea!) we believe businesses have a responsibility to do more than just minimise harm – we must be part of the solution. That’s why we’ve partnered with Sprout Social to take real, verifiable restorative action.
Through this partnership we are removing ocean bound plastic bottles, and planting real, verified trees that restore ecosystems, support biodiversity, and empower local communities with every online purchase. The best part? Our impact is tracked and transparent. With the GoodAPI (Sprout Social) app, we can track in live time how we're contribute to thriving forests.
See our impact in action – check out our Climate Commitment and Impact Hub (coming soon!) to explore the projects we’re supporting and the difference we are making.
LET’S RESTORE THE PLANET—TOGETHER
As Earth Months ends, our mission continues. We invite you to be part of something bigger. By making simple choices; supporting restoration, reducing waste, and advocating for nature, we can drive real change—one tea at a time.
