Brewing Instructions:
Adjust steeping time, tea quantity and serving suggestions according to your personal taste preference.
- Place 1 teaspoon of tea into a strainer or infuser.
If using a teapot, add 1 teaspoon of tea leaves per person + one for the pot. - Bring fresh, cold water to a boil (100°C/212°F)
- Pour 250ml / 8 ounces (1 cup) of hot water (90°C - 95°C / 194°F - 203°F) over the tea.
You can also use freshly boiled water (100°C/212°F) directly without letting it cool significantly. - Cover the pot or cup to retain heat and aroma.
- Steep for 2-3 minutes for a delicate flavor, or up to 4 minutes for a stronger brew.
- Remove the strainer or infuser and serve hot, without milk or cream, to enjoy the tea's natural sweetness.
- Re-use or discard the used tea leaves by composting them.
Serving Suggestions:
Adjust the strength of the tea by varying the amount of tea leaves and steeping time according to personal preference.
Mix with your favourite herbs, fruits, or garnishes, or edible flowers for an extra touch of flavor and visual appeal to create unique hot brew combinations.
Cold Brews:
- Place 1-2 tablespoons of loose leaf herbal tea into a fine mesh tea strainer or infuser.
- Place the tea infuser or strainer in the pitcher or jar.
- Fill the pitcher or jar with 1 liter (4 cups) of cold or room temperature water.
Use filtered water if possible to enhance the purity of the flavors. - Cover the pitcher or jar with a lid and place it in the refrigerator.
- Let the tea steep in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight (about 8-12 hours).
Cold brewing time allows the flavors to infuse gently without becoming bitter.
- After steeping, remove the tea leaves using a fine mesh tea strainer or simply pour the cold brew through a sieve into another container.
- Pour the cold brewed herbal tea into glasses filled with ice cubes.
- Rebrew the used tea leaves for multiple infusions, or discard by composting them.
